Explorers Remain Red Hot: Shut Out Goleman For First Regular Season Win

Last night, the Explorers faced off against the Goleman Gators in the Explorers fist game of the BSN Explorer Challenge Tournament. The Explorers bats remained red hot as they put up 5 runs in the first inning and another run in the second to give them an early 6-0 lead. Seniors Nick Calero and Alex Rodriguez and juniors Jorge Braceras and JP Herrholtz were all 2 for 3 on the day combing for 8 of the Explorers 11 hits. Also, junior Gino Torrente ended the game on a solo home run in just his first at bat for the Explorers. Junior Nick Regalado earned his second win for the Explorers. He went 4 innings allowing just 1 hit and striking out 3 Goleman hitters. The Explorers defeated Goleman by a final score of 10-0. The Explorers look to advance to Friday’s championship game as they take on the Killian Cougars on Wednesday at 6:30 at Columbus.
